A suspect has been taken into custody for a stabbing that took place on the campus of Mississippi State University Monday afternoon.
According to a report from the university, a Maroon Alert was sent out to faculty and students just before 4 p.m. due to a stabbing incident in or near Herbert Hall. Police immediately responded to the scene.
Shortly afterward, MSU officials stated that a suspect, yet to be identified by law enforcement, had been taken into custody. Those on or near the campus are advised to avoid the scene of the crime until the area is cleared by authorities.
