A teenager is facing a capital murder charge for his alleged involvement in a Jackson shooting.
Cory Mitchell, 17, is facing the upgraded charge after a fellow teen, Arthur Brown, Jr., 17, passed away at the University of Mississippi Medical Center on Monday.
Mitchell was arrested on Sunday and was initially charged with aggravated assault stemming from accusations that he opened fire on Brown in the area of Jayne Avenue and Lindsey Drive on Friday.
Authorities have not released what led up to the shooting or a motive.
