Tennessee woman arrested for kidnapping in Mississippi

A woman wanted for the aggravated kidnapping of a child in Shelby County, Tenn. has been arrested in Grenada. 

Grenada County Sheriff’s Office deputies found Regan Kelly, 28, more than 100 miles away from where she allegedly abducted an unidentified child. She was apprehended on Carpenter Road in Grenada after being tracked down via cell phone coordinates. The alleged kidnapped child was also found at the residence, authorities said, along with another child. Both were unharmed and released to Child Protective Services.

Grenada law enforcement officials said they worked with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Millington Police, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, and Grenada Police in the case. 

In addition to the kidnapping charge, Kelly will also face a count of aggravated burglary. She was extradited to Tennessee following her arrest, where she is being held at the Shelby County jail on a $50,000 bond.
