The Beach Boys are getting ready to take over Mississippi’s largest car show this Thursday and Friday.
Mike Love, who co-founded the Beach Boys with his cousins Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, joined Tuesday’s edition of MidDays with Gerard Gibert to talk about the group’s upcoming concerts at Cruisin’ the Coast.
“The audience still loves our songs, particularly with Cruisin’ the Coast weekend,” Love said. “All kinds of our songs have to do with cruisin’ and cars, so this is the time of year we love to come down to the coast.”
Beach Boys songs about cars include “409,” “Shut Down,” “Little Deuce Coupe,” “I Get Around,” and “Fun, Fun, Fun.”
The band – current members being Love, Brian, Al Jardine, and Bruce Johnston – will play at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi on Thursday and Friday, both concerts set for 8 p.m. Tickets can be bought here.
