Thousands without power in Mississippi following Monday’s severe storms

Thousands of Mississippi residents are currently without power following the severe storms that spanned across the state on Monday.

At this time, nearly 8,000 Mississippians are experiencing a power outage, with the majority of those being affected living in the southwestern part of the state.

Copiah County is currently experiencing the largest number of outages with approximately 3,300 customers showing a lack of power. Claiborne County has the second-highest amount of reported outages at a little over 700 customers.
