Meridian pastor Todd Tilghman was the winner of this past season of NBC’s The Voice, but what’s the pastor-turned-star up to now?
Todd and his wife, Brooke, recently appeared on Good Things with Rebecca Turner in order to answer that question.
Even amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tilghman’s have been staying busy with various performances at The Theatre of The Stars in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, as well as at the historic Temple Theater in Meridian. On top of that, the two have also been working on a book.
From how they met at church as teenagers to Todd’s victory on Season 18 of The Voice, Every Little Win, which will be published by Nelson Books of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, will delve into what Brooke considers to be the “layered story” of the two’s relationship.
“It’s coming June the 26th, and you can get all of the down-low behind the scenes,” the couple announced.
Todd is also planning to drop his new single, “In A Heartache,” come this Sunday on Valentine’s Day.
Todd, who has been writing mostly with the likes of Don Poythress and Tony Wood, based the song on the challenges you may face on the road to where you want to be—whether it be with songwriting or a relationship with a significant other—and how it’s all worth it in the end.
“It’s basically a really condensed version of a long love story,” Todd said. “We started out and it felt right. It felt everything was going to be good and it was going to be awesome, but it didn’t take very long to realize that it’s not all that easy.”
