A Neshoba County man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for burglary and sexual assault on the Choctaw Indian Reservation.
According to court records, Scottie Amos, 26, entered a tribal home on Sept. 14, 2017, and sexually assaulted a female tribal member. Less than two months later, Amos broke into a separate tribal home on Nov. 2, 2017.
Amos, a native of Tucker, was indicted for both incidents and plead guilty on Jan. 8, 2024. He was sentenced on Thursday to 168 months in federal prison.
The Choctaw Police Department and the FBI investigated the case with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kevin J. Payne and Brian K. Burns serving as prosecutors.
