Tupelo police arrest man accused of child sex crimes

Tupelo police have taken a man into custody for alleged sex crimes involving a minor.

Officers served a warrant on Pepe Morales, 57, last Tuesday for two counts of sexual battery of a child under 14 and one count of fondling. The warrant pertained to a 2023 report.

No further details have been provided regarding the nature of the abuse.

Morales is being held on a $50,000 bond issued by Lee County Circuit Court. His case is currently awaiting trial.
