Tupelo Regional Airport evacuated following bomb threat

Officials are investigating a bomb threat that was reported at the Tupelo Regional Airport early Thursday morning.

According to the City of Tupelo, the airport was one of multiple locations across the nation that received an emailed bomb threat at around 7:45 a.m.

At this time, the authorities with the Tupelo Airport Authority, Tupelo Fire Department, and Tupelo Police Department are investigating the threat. The Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have also been notified of the situation.

All passengers and airport employees are being evacuated while bomb detection dogs search the area.
