Early Friday morning, the Adams County Sheriff’s Department Special Operations Group executed a search warrant at an apartment at Holiday Apartments in Natchez. Dantashia McGuire, George Smith, and three young children were found inside. In the master bedroom, deputies found approximately 12 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 58 grams of marijuana, approximately 33 Ecstasy tablets, and a loaded .380 pistol.
Both McGuire and Smith were arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule I (Esctasy) with Intent, Possession of Schedule I (Marijuana) with Intent, Possession of Schedule II (Methamphetamine) with Intent, and being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm. McGuire was also charged with Harboring a Fugitive. Smith had active felony warrants for two counts of Aggravated Assault.
George Smith was currently out on bond for charges from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office for Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Resisting Arrest, and Possession of Schedule IV from an incident that occurred on April 12, 2021. Smith was also out on felony bond related to charges from the Natchez Police Department including four counts of Aggravated Assault and Felon in Possession of a Firearm for an incident that occurred on June 11, 2019.
