It took until nearly the end, but two Mississippi State players finally heard their name called in the 2021 NFL Draft in the seventh and final round.

The first Bulldog off the board was defensive tackle Marquiss Spencer. The 6’4″ 301 pounder out of Greenwood, MS went to the Denver Broncos with the 253rd pick of the draft. He was followed quickly by his teammate Kylin Hill, who went to the Green Bay Packers at 256.

Spencer was a three year starter for the Bulldogs, racking up 30 tackles as a senior, with 8 tackles for loss and 3 sacks. Hill was an All-SEC running back as a junior in 2019, leading the conference in rushing. His 2020 season was marred by injury and controversy, eventually leading to an midseason opt-out. He gained 1350 yards as a junior, finishing his career among MSU’s top 10 leading rushers.

Several Bulldogs are expected to sign contracts as undrafted free agents, chief among them senior All-SEC linebacker Erroll Thompson.
