Officials have provided more information after an inmate escaped the Mississippi State Penitentiary on Monday and was captured on Wednesday.
The Mississippi Department of Corrections confirmed that Gregory Trigg, 45, was apprehended by law enforcement in Tulsa, Oklahoma after being at large for two days. What led authorities to Trigg’s location has not been reported, but officials plan to make more details available in the near future.
Trigg was in the process of serving 61 years behind bars for nine sentences. His lengthy jail stint followed convictions for kidnapping, residential burglary, conspiracy, illegally possessing a firearm, vehicle burglary, and vehicle theft.
These crimes were committed in Madison, Rankin, and Scott counties. He is expected to face additional charges, stemming from the escape.
