Southern Miss� schedule has been reduced to 11 games following the cancelation of their matchup with Tennessee Tech.
The matchup becomes a casualty of the�Ohio Valley Conference’s decision to�cancel all of its fall sports.�The Golden Eagles were supposed to host TTU on September 19th.
In a statement, USM Athletic Director Jeremy McClain said that they will seek out a 12th opponent for the upcoming season.
�We have learned today with the OVC cancellation of fall sports that Tennessee Tech will not be able to play this fall,� McClain said. �Our focus now turns into exploration of potential opportunities for us to play a 12th game this fall for our football program.�
The Golden Eagles are set to kick off the 2020 season at home against South Alabama on September 3rd.
