A Vicksburg man will spend three decades in prison for attempting to sexually assault a teenager.
First reported by the Vicksburg Daily News, James Cole was sentenced to 50 years behind bars, with 20 years suspended — leaving him to serve 30 years locked up for trying to rape his stepdaughter in 2020. She was 13 years old at the time.
Cole is accused of molesting his stepdaughter on multiple occasions and making unwanted sexual advances toward her.
He is said to have attempted to have sex with the teen, but was stopped when his wife caught him in the act.
