A Mississippi teen has been charged with capital murder after fatally shooting a man in Vicksburg over one week ago.

On Monday, 18-year-old Larry Bell Jr. was arrested and charged in the murder of Brendyn Carmen, 20, before appearing before Judge Angela Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court.

Bell was accused of being involved in Carmen’s death after officers responded to reports of a shooting near the 1600 block of Court Street around 1:30 a.m. on July 30.

At the same time, deputies with the Warren County Sheriff’s Department discovered a wrecked blue Nissan Maxima located on First North Street. Upon investigation, officers found Carmen inside of the vehicle with several fatal gunshot wounds.

Bell has been issued a bond of $2 million and is currently being held in the Warren County jail.
