What a way to start a Monday.
The Hinds County Board of Supervisors was having its biweekly meeting when a fight broke out between Supervisors David Archie and Credell Calhoun.
The physical altercation came after Supervisor Vern Gavin presented a motion that would change the rules for electing the board’s vice president.
According to Archie, Calhoun should have notified both the board and the public during its December 6 meeting, per Robert’s Rules of Order, before adding the item to the agenda.
This isn’t the first disagreement between Archie and Calhoun. Calhoun has previously tried to get Archie removed as board vice president. He also had Archie arrested for an in-meeting outburst in September.
The argument gets physical when Calhoun, the board’s president, pushes a chair into Archie. No arrests were made.
