The U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded $12,143,000 to Visions Manufacturing, LLC. in Canton to build a new facility in central Mississippi.
Congressman Bennie Thompson announced on Monday that the funding has been made available through the USDA’s rural development program.
The money will be used to guarantee a loan to Magnolia Bank to re-lend to Visions Manufacturing to assist in acquiring land, purchasing, and installing equipment to construct a 131,400 facility.
The manufacturing entity will produce construction components such as roof trusses, wall panels, and floor systems. An estimated 300 jobs will be created in the process.
One of the goals of the facility is to automate and create solutions for the construction of workforce housing in terms of lowering costs, shortening production time, and eliminating unnecessary waste.
