Water pressure rises at Jackson water treatment plant after pump installation

posted in: Mississippi News | 0

Water pressure at Jackson’s O.B. Curtis water treatment facility has partially been restored following the installation of a rental water pump.

On Wednesday afternoon, Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) released that the pump had been successfully implemented into the facility’s system, with hopes that the new pump would aid in bringing a temporary solution to the lack of water pressure. At the time, the overall water pressure at the plant was sitting around 40 PSI.

Since then, the total water pressure output at the plant has nearly doubled, rising to 78 PSI, just nine PSI under the city’s proper surface system levels.

Additional work at the plant over the past 24 hours has included repairs, equipment adjustments, and sourcing chemicals to fix the water’s chemistry.
