Winter storm impacting travel

Emergency officials are urging you to stay home if possible today.  If there is an emergency and you must get out, be aware that roads and bridges are being impacted by ice.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation is reporting ice on roads and bridges in the following counties: Adams, Alcorn, Amite, Benton, Bolivar, Calhoun, Carroll, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Claiborne, Clay, Coahoma, Copiah, Covington, DeSoto, Franklin, Grenada, Hinds, Holmes, Humphreys, Issaquena, Itawamba, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Kemper, Lafayette, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Leake, Lee, Leflore, Lincoln, Lowndes, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Montgomery, Neshoba, Newton, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, Panola, Pike, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Quitman, Rankin, Scott, Sharkey, Simpson, Smith, Sunflower, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Tunica, Union, Walthall, Warren, Webster, Wilkinson, Winston, Yalobusha and Yazoo counties.
The Clinton Police Department says large vehicles are experiencing problems on hills and inclines.
