The woman who was allegedly kidnapped from the Nissan plant in Canton last week before dying trying to escape was pregnant at the time, according to law enforcement.
Glynis Jackson, 31, is believed to have been abducted and shot by Joshua Andrews, 29, last Tuesday morning. Police in Holmes County reported that Andrews kidnapped Jackson from the parking lot of the car manufacturing plant in Madison County before fleeing northbound on Interstate 55.
Jackson is said to have jumped out of the vehicle when she was fatally struck by another vehicle. While Andrews turned himself in to authorities shortly thereafter, authorities noticed gunshot wounds on Jackson’s body and the passenger side of the vehicle used during the crimes.

Andrews was initially charged with capital murder and felon in possession of a firearm, stemming from a previous aggravated assault conviction. However, on Wednesday, charges against Andrews were upgraded to first-degree murder of an unborn child.
Jackson was a mother to three children before her death, although it’s unclear if any of the children were Andrews’ as well.
Andrews is being held without bond at the Madison County Detention Center.
