A second Mississippi sheriff has passed away from COVID-19 in as many weeks.
Yalobusha County Sheriff Mark Fulco passed away this afternoon at the age of 50 with multiple reports and memorial posts stating that the sheriff died from COVID-19-related complications. According to the North Mississippi Herald, Fulco tested positive for the virus and had been admitted to the hospital on August 2nd. He was battling pneumonia prior to his passing.
Hinds County Sheriff Lee Vance died at his home last Wednesday after he was diagnosed with the virus in late July. His death was ultimately ruled a “COVID-19-related death.”
Funeral services for Vance have been set for later this week.
