Hot and humid conditions will continue to result in dangerous heat stress conditions through this weekend. Heat indices are likely to exceed 110 degrees in western Mississippi. Heat stroke and heat exhaustion are possible the longer you’re outside, so be sure to drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks when you’re working outside.
Northern Mississippi–
Mostly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms through this evening. Highs will be in the upper 90s with heat index readings from 111 to 116. Lows tonight will be in the lower to mid-70s.
Central Mississippi–
Mostly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms through this evening, some of those could be severe in the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid to upper 90s with heat index readings from 112 to 117. Lows tonight will be in the low to mid-70s.
Southern Mississippi–
Mostly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms through tonight. Highs will be in the mid to upper 90s with heat index readings from 110 to 115. Lows tonight will be in the mid to upper 70s.
