Northern Mississippi:

Mostly clear skies will be seen throughout the northern portion of Mississippi today with temperatures expected to sit in the lower to mid-90s. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms will progress into the day as heat index readings range between 103 to 108 degrees. As night falls, mostly clear skies will go into the night with a slight chance of rain as temperatures drop to the mid-70s.

Central Mississippi:

Weather in central Mississippi is expected to be sunny throughout the day with temperatures likely to stay in the upper 90s. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms will progress into the day and afternoon as heat index readings range between 111 to 116 degrees. When the sun sets, temperatures will drop to the mid to upper-70s with mostly clear skies to continue throughout the night.

Southern Mississippi:

Sun will be seen in the southern parts of Mississippi today as temperatures are anticipated to sit near 99 to 100 degrees. A chance of showers and thunderstorms will increase throughout the day with heat index readings sitting between 111 and 116 degrees. As the sun sets, partly cloudy skies will continue as temperatures drop back down to the upper-70s overnight.
